Hi! My name is Mrs. Aleta Boltinghouse and I am so glad to be part of the OVMS 7th/8th grade team. More importantly, I am thrilled to be working with your child this school year. It's going to be a year full of lots of learning, and new adventures, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us. I am excited to learn about each and every one of my students, but first I am going to share a few things about me.
I was born and raised around Bloomington, IN and I am the oldest of two. When I graduated high school, I attended Indiana University. I majored in Elementary Education and was so excited about teaching. I quickly went back to school and earned my Master’s degree in Special Education.
I have taught within the Spencer Owen Community School Corporation for 19 years. I love teaching/working with two grade levels, because I know exactly where they came from and where they need to go in order to be successful.
I am married to Mr. Boltinghouse, who is the Principal at Owen Valley High School. We have three wonderful children. Our oldest, Ashlyn, is 18 and will be attending IU Columbus this fall and will be playing softball. Our middle, Austin, is 13 and in 9th grade, and our youngest, Adalyn, is 7 and in first grade. Our kids keep us on our toes with gymnastics, softball, football, wrestling, soccer, and their love for adventure.
I am so excited to be one of your child's teachers for the year, and for them to be a part of the Owen Valley Middle School crew.
