Hi, I’m Terri Shaw.  I just moved here from Muncie, IN.  I am excited to be a part of the Spencer community.  I graduated from Ball State University.  This year will be my twenty-fourth year teaching.  I have 2 children.  I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my German Shepherd,  I really look forward to meeting all the wonderful families in our school.

Expectations of Behavior, Work, & Attendance

Come prepared to work and learn:  Prepared means that lessons have been submitted before class starting at 8:20 a.m., all supplies for the day are available for you (paper, pencil, computer), daily check-in for/attendance is complete before 8:20 a.m., and that you have visited the restroom and filled your water bottle, if needed.

Mindset is critical: *You can learn. Whether something is challenging you or not, you can always learn. *To persevere when you are frustrated is the sign of a person with phenomenal GRIT...that's fantastic! *Find ways to challenge yourself.    * We all learn when we fail. You just need to dig within yourself to learn from your mistakes.  * Always try your hardest...whether work is challenging or simple for you.   * Your effort and attitude  determine much of your outcome.

Attendance:  On days you are expected to be present on Google Meet, you will need to be logged in & ready to learn by 8:20 a.m. This means work has been submitted and the check-in form completed by 8:20. If you are absent, complete the work listed within all of the Google Classrooms for the day. As with in-person school, you have one day for each day absent to submit work. A parent/guardian should let me know of an absence.

Late Work: Any work not submitted on time will make it more challenging to move forward and be an active participant in class. Work will only be accepted within a week of the due date. If you submit something late (or if you've submitted from being absent- not late), you complete the Late/Missing Work Form specifically telling me what you have submitted.

Absent Work: You have however many days you missed to complete any work from when you were absent.  If you missed one day, you have one day to complete the work from the day you were absent.  Work will only be accepted within a week of the due date. If you submit something late (or if you've submitted from being absent- not late), you complete the Late/Missing Work Form  or Make-Up Absent Form specifically telling me what you have submitted.

Behavior: *actively participate  *answer questions   *volunteer   *be polite  *respect your classmates
