Mrs. Hayes’ students experimented w/packing single Pringle chips in a variety of products of differing weights to see which protected the chip best during shipping. Almost all chips arrived unbroken! I was honored to reveal the results with the group! #socsowen #beawesometoday

Our SEL lesson today provided students with information about the 21st century scholarship program. This is in preparation for next week’s College Go Week.

Our SEL lesson today was on the topic of 9/11. Social-emotional learning (SEL) is developing self-awareness & interpersonal skills vital for school, work, & life success. Students watched the youtube video of the man in the red bandana and discussed it. #socsowen #beawesometoday


The OVMS staff was happy to host Mr. Bill Reed, from INcompassing Education. He shared instructional techniques to help students learn by being more involved in discussions. This helps students show their skills on standardized tests, especially in math. #socsowen #beawesometoday

Students enter the building at 7:55 am and either go to breakfast or gather in the gym until they head to their homerooms. They enjoy this time with friends! #socsowen #beawesometoday
