It's National School Resource Officer Day!
We would like to thank our very own SRO’s Deputy Daniel “Opie” Rhienhart and Deputy Bill Browne for all of the great things they do throughout the year.
SROs are carefully selected, specifically-trained, sworn law enforcement officers assigned by an employing law enforcement agency to work with schools using community-oriented policing concepts.
The SRO assignment is unique within the law enforcement profession. These officers fill a three-part role: serving as informal mentors or counselors, law educators, and law enforcement officers to support our community. They are valuable and essential members of the education community and we greatly appreciate their work in keeping schools and students safe.
Spencer-Owen Community Schools is fortunate to have two of the very best School Resource Officers around!
Thank you, Bill and Opie! You are appreciated!
